All flying activities at the Spruce Creek Airport are regulated by the FAA and by the recommended procedures published in the Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM). In addition, a limited number of local rules and procedures have been established to promote safety. By using the Spruce Creek Airport and facilities you indicate your acceptance of and agree to be bound by the terms of the Spruce Creek Airport Procedures and any subsequent amendments.
- Private use. Permission required prior to landing. Permission to use the airport is obtained from the Airport Manager or from a Resident invitation.
If you fly into Spruce Creek Airport, you are required to pre-register. This is a private airport and only available for use by Spruce Creek Property Owners Association members and their registered guests.

We like to point out that we are not just an aviation community, although that is really important to many residents. Many people choose to live here for the great central Florida location - near ocean beaches, tourist attractions, vacation activities, good schools in a friendly and secure gated community.
There is lots to do for those who don't fly or golf and plenty of company too. The beach is 12 miles to the east, the Halifax River and the Indian River Lagoon offer boating and other water related activities. Community groups welcome new participants - book clubs, bridge, mahjong, quilting, childrens' recreation, community emergency response team as well as local organizations supporting the arts, education, marine life.
You can join and enjoy the Golf and Country Club. In addition to the 18 hole golf course, it offers tennis, pickleball, yoga, water aerobics, gym and pool. Activities - bridge, bingo, trivia, and special programs - musical performances, holiday parties, provide ample opportunity to meet new friends. The bar and dining room are open throughout the week. Social and seasonal memberships are available.
Other Spruce Creek community activities include the local EAA Chapter 288, and an active Young Eagles program. There are organized and casual flying activities throughout the state if you want to go a bit farther afield.
The Publix grocery store is about 2 miles away. There is a wide variety of shopping within a 10 mile radius, including markets that sell locally grown fruit and vegetables. There is an outlet mall a few miles farther away. There are plenty of restaurants catering to a variety of tastes nearby.
The surrounding urban area includes Port Orange, Daytona Beach and New Smyrna Beach where you will find all the usual national chains - LA Fitness, Macys, Target, Lowes, Home Depot as well as many Florida and local services and retailers. There are major outlets and other huge stores about 20 miles north on Hwy 95. The area is busy throughout the year with full time residents, snowbirds and summer vacationers.
