The Psychology of Making it Official These weren’t aspirational statements. They were declarations of identity. And like Apple, Nike organized every decision around proving them true. The declaration came first. The evidence followed. Results don’t happen in a vacuum. They begin life with intention. And until you declare it publicly, until you hold yourself accountable to people, it isn’t real to them. And according to the science, not very real to you either.

welcome

Welcome to FastTrac! In this course, aspiring and early stage entrepreneurs develop and refine a business concept, taking it through each step of the business planning process. Through readings, research, and discussion, plan and analyze their entrepreneurial vision by creating a thoroughly researched and tested Business Plan.

As you progress through this course, you will complete five modules - IDEATE, POSITION, COMMIT, REFINE, LAUNCH.

  • IDEATE - Brainstorm session with post-it notes
  • POSITION - Get started making your idea a reality and exploring the entrepreneurial life. Position your idea in the market, understand your customers, and solidify your business model.
  • COMMIT - Commit to reaching your market, making a sale, and protecting your business.
  • REFINE - Refine your strategy before launch and make sure your finances are in order.
  • LAUNCH - Plan for launching, leading, and growing your business.

This is a "blended" or "hybrid" hands-on learning experience with in-person sessions and online facilitated activities. On completion of the workshop, your will have prepared these essential documents to guide the next steps in your entrepreneurial journey.

  • Business Plan - Plan out the key elements of your business from marketing to pricing and everything in between.
  • Business Design - Visualize your business concept, see new opportunities, and design or redesign your business model with this template.
  • Pitch - Develop the clear and concise story of your business, to be shared with friends, potential customers, investors, and the market at large.
  • Financial Forecast - Create a financial forecast that will help you predict, measure, and analyze the growth of your business for the next 3 years.

See discussion IDEATE https://learn.fasttrac.org/courses/1959/discussion_topics/3646

This is likely enough to get started.

Have a quick look through the Modules - navigation menu on left. There is a lot here. Are there a couple of items that will be most applicable to you? We can get you working on those areas.

There is a ridiculous amount of material provided. Although it is all good, it isn't practical to try to cover it all. Just know that it is there if you ever need it.

I suggest that you look at the first few items in the module. We talked about the Business Model Canvas - the 1-page business plan. It is included. For you, that may be adequate, rather than the extensive business plan that gets assembled by working through the entire set of activities.

As always, if you have questions, please ask. I'm happy to respond to emails. Phone is fine too. ..vt
