Hi all,
I am uncomfortable with copyright as an "enabler". Here is a suggested alternative.
Could we add a third situation in the second paragraph:
... unless:
- the copyright of the work has been handed over to the publisher;
Regarding "cases where the author declares that the work will be released under public domain", I understand that in some parts of Europe, this is not an option. The only way the work can enter the public domain is via copyright expiry.
>>the copyright of the work has been handed over to the publisher;
Change added.
>>Regarding "cases where the author declares that the work will be released under public domain", I understand that in some parts of Europe, this is not an option.
I've included wording in the footnote to indicate it is not universal.
