How do your students think? Do they all think in different ways? Several thinking Styles have been identified. Professor Anthony Gregorc has divided these styles into four groups.

• Concrete Sequential.
• Concrete Random.
• Abstract Random.
• Abstract Sequential.

Activity

Check out the information about the four categories of thinking styles, and check which one you belong in, by taking the personal thinking styles survey. Visualize a particular group of students that you teach. Is there a dominant thinking style that your students use? If so, what is this style? For the same group of students, can you identify their least preferred thinking style? Jot down at least two teaching strategies or classroom activities that you would use to develop the least preferred thinking style amongst your students.
