Uyghur girls in Khotan. The Uyghurs are one of the minority nationalities in China. They remain culturally distinct from the Han Chinese population and primarily live in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous region in north-western China.

Diversity of human ideas, values, beliefs and behaviours

Culture is an oft used term, but not everyone who uses it has a clear understanding of what it means. By the end of this micro course you should have developed a clearer understanding of what constitutes culture, and you should be able to define the term. Students should also be able to list the complex factors that may be included in a study of culture. Finally, you should also be able to identify and provide examples that illustrate the variability of culture across the Asia-Pacific region.
