Objectives

This topic introduces you to a number of issues that impact upon or are of concern to contemporary Indigenous Australians. We begin by looking at the question of Indigenous health.

The first section of this topic takes a slight detour to consider Social Justice and Reconciliation.

This topic is divided into the following sections:

• Why Social Justice and Reconciliation?
• Social Justice;
• Reconciliation;
• Indigenous health and well being today;
• Indigenous health and Indigenous history.

This topic is study towards achieving the following objective:

• demonstrate knowledge and understanding of a range of contemporary issues which impact upon Indigenous peoples and communities.
